Biography

I am currently an Assistant Professor in Department of Computer Science at Georgia State University. I lead the Mobile And Networked Systems Laboratory (MANSys) at GSU. My research interests include Mobile Computing, IoT Systems, Multimedia, and HCI. I am especially interested in the networking and security issues of camera sensor based cyber-human systems, such as image, video and VR/AR systems.

I received my Ph.D. degree in Computer Science and Engineering from University at Buffalo, The State University of New York. I worked with Dr. Chang Wen Chen for my dissertation. I also worked at Stanford University as a visiting researcher, hosted by Dr. Bernd Girod. I received my M.Eng. and B.Eng. degrees from University of Science and Technology of China and Shandong University, respectively.

I am honored to receive several research awards, including NSF CRII Award, ACM SIGMM Best PhD Thesis Award, University at Buffalo CSE Best Dissertation Award, ACM HotMobile'18 Best Demo Award, University at Buffalo David M. Benenson Memorial Award, and IEEE HealthCom'14 Best Student Paper Runner-up.
